한양대학교 국제학대학원 중국학과는 국제인력양성을 위해 1997년 국가정책의 일환으로 전국 9개 대학을 선정하여 국제대학원을 설립했을 당시 한양대학교 국제학대학원 중국학에 대한 대학원의 한과로 만들어졌습니다. 한양대학교 국제학대학원은 미국, 일본, 러시아와 중국 등 국제무대에서 막강한 영향력을 행사하고 정치적, 경제적인 실력자인 국가에 대한 전반적인 연구와 실무적 전문가 양성에 필요성을 느껴 특정 국가에 대한 지역 연구인 지역학에 중점을 두는 학업과정을 만들었습니다.
중국학과는 중국에 대한 정치, 경제, 역사, 문화, 언어 등 전문가로서 갖추어야 할 필수적 인지적 소양을 기르며, 지역학전문가에게 필수적인 국제정치, 국제관계 등 세계적 흐름에 대한 학업과 경제지식, 실무적인 활용방법 등을 다양한 커리큘럼을 통해 얻을 수 있게 합니다.
Department of Chinese Studies at Hanyang University Graduate School of International Studies was established as a specialized graduate department in 1997 when the government established graduate schools of international studies at nine universities nationwide as a part of a national policy to nurture international human resources. Graduate School of International Studies at Hanyang University created an academic track focusing on regional studies in response to an increasing necessity to conduct competitive research and cultivate practical experts on the countries with strong influence and political and economic power in the international stage, such as the United States, Japan, Russia, and China.
Department of Chinese Studies develops the essential knowledge of China's politics, economy, history, culture, and language, as well as the practical expertise of international politics, international relations, and other global phenomena required for regional studies professionals through a comprehensive curriculum.

러시아트랙
1997년 3월에 설립된 한양대학교 국제학대학원 러시아학과는 러시아어와 영어 구사능력, 국제정치와 국제경제에 관한 이론, 러시아를 포함한 CIS 국가들에 대한 지역학적 지식을 겸비하고 졸업 후 정부기관, 기업, 국제 NGO 등에서 활동할 수 있는 러시아 및 유라시아 전문가를 양성하는 것을 교육목표로 하고 있습니다. 특히 러시아 정체 분석 전문가, 한러 통상 및 투자전문가, 러시아 현지 관리 전문가 등 세 분야의 전공과정으로 특화되어있습니다.
지난 2007년 11월에 "유라시아 정체성과 문명 공존: 유라시아학 체계 정립과 지역종합 정보시스템 구축"이라는 주제로 인문한국(HK) 해외지역연구분야 연구소 지원사업에 선정됨으로써 러시아 및 유라시아 지역 연구의 선도적역할을 담당하고 있는 아태지역 연구센터(소장: 엄구호 러시아학과 교수)는 대학원과 연계한 연구과제 수행을 통해 학생들에게 다양한 연구 참여기회를 제공하고 이론과 연구의 접목을 통한 실무 감각 습득에도 도움을 주고 있을 뿐만 아니라 연구보조원 프로그램을 통한 장학혜택 도부 여하고 있습니다.
또한 2008년 3월부터 대외경제정책연구원(KIEP)과 공동으로 러시아 및 중앙아시아지역전문가 양성교육과정을 운영하면서 해당지역 관련 정규과목 및 실무특강 개설, 해외인턴쉽 및 해외 현지조사 파견, 학생 세미나 활동 지원, 장학금 수여 등 다양한 혜택을 제공하고 있습니다.
Established in March 1997, Department of Russian Studies at Hanyang University Graduate School of International Studies aims to train Russian and Eurasian experts who can work in government agencies, corporations, international NGOs, etc. after graduation with proficiency in Russian and English, international political and economic theories, and regional knowledge of CIS countries. Our program is specialized in three areas: Russian identity analysis, Russian trade and investment, and Russian local management.
In November 2007, the Center for Asia-Pacific Studies (Director: Professor Uhm Gu-ho, Department of Russian Studies), which plays a leading role in Russian and Eurasian regional studies, was selected for the Humanities Korea (HK) Overseas Regional Studies Institute Support Project under the theme of “Eurasian Identity and Civilization Coexistence: Establishing a System of Eurasian Studies and Building a Regional Comprehensive Information System.” The Center provides students with various opportunities to participate in research through research projects in conjunction with graduate schools and helps them acquire practical skills through the integration of theory and practice, as well as scholarship benefits through the Research Assistantship Program.
In addition, since March 2008, we have jointly operated the Russia and Central Asia Regional Specialist Training Program with the Korea Institute for Foreign Economic Policy (KIEP), which provides various programs such as regular courses and special courses related to the region, overseas internships and field research, support for student seminar activities, and scholarships.
