What is social innovation
Social problems can be solved with new thinking systems and resource connections, which is called social innovation. Social innovation, also sometimes called social economy, encompasses the entire process of creative problem solving, which is recognized not only in Korea but also globally, and can be highly efficient, effective, sustainable, and fair. It aims to converge with various academic fields and majors to help students develop their qualities as changemakers who can change the world for the better and strengthen their practical capabilities.
Goals of the Major in Social Innovation
The Major in Social Innovation aims to foster convergent talents that solve social problems through expertise and practical skills in social economy and social innovation, and also aims to foster social entrepreneurship that plans, connects, and realizes various social ecosystems in a better way.
The Major in Social Innovation can be completed by any Hanyang student who is interested in the society we live in, even in a small way, and who desires open conversations in class without any discomfort.

Focuses on the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
IC-PBL(Industry-Coupled Problem-Based Learning) centered curriculum
Major in Social Innovation field training (Changemaker Action Learning) earns up to 15 credits(9 credits for majors, 6 credits for non-majors (general)). completers will receive an internship. Students may substitute an internship for the internship requirement.

Requirements for the Major in Social Innovation
- Curriculum ① Interdisciplinary Major 36 credits
② Major Core (200-300 units) 21 credits + 6 units of major
concentration(400-level), including 15 units of major duplication.
Requirements for the minor
- Curriculum ① Complete 21 credits in the minor
② Includes 12 credits of major core (9 credits of major overlap)
Common Requirements: Required to take 4 elective courses from the designated courses in the prerequisites for the Major in Social Innovation (4 elective courses) to graduate
