| 연구분야 | 비교정치 (North America, East Asia), 정치이론, 시민사회, 국제관계 Joseph Eugene Yi is associate professor of political science at Hanyang University. Yi studies the development of individual liberty in various settings, from mature democracies (e.g., USA) to young democracies (South Korea) to closed autocracies (North Korea). His publications include LGBT rights in South Korea; Christian humanitarian workers in North Korea; and Korea-Japan-China relations. Professor Yi pursues a Weberian-scientific philosophy of nuanced, in-depth research of controversial topics, and encourages his students to do the same.
