Time: 10:00-13:00

Organizers:
- Sun-Ah Jun (UCLA)
- Sahyang Kim (Hongik University)
- Taehong Cho (Hanyang University)

In this 3-hour workshop, we will provide a brief overview of general aspects of K-ToBI and discuss various issues that stem largely from:
(1) the gap between theoretical underpinnings of the K-ToBI model and its practicality in capturing tonal variations that occur in either a categorical or a gradient fashion;
(2) difficulties in determining the size of the prosodic juncture (boundary) beween those of Prosodic Word, Accentual Phrase and Intermediate Phrase Boundary, especially when the tonal and temporal realizations do not resonate with each other.

Call-for-Abstracts:
We have a very limited number of slots available for a brief (5-10 minute) presentation which addresses any theoretical and/or practical issue in using the K-ToBI model. But we particularly welcome a presentation of specific (recurring) examples which pose difficulties in prosodic transcription in the  current K-ToBI model, and can be discussed with the audience.
