Problem-solving activities from college student social innovation leaders
The Heemang Handae Leader Group is a student group under the Global Social Innovation Team, which is a project team that leads social contribution activities and creates a culture of service. The Heemang Handae Leader Group begins with an individual or group of students taking the initiative to plan and propose a project, and the Global Social Innovation Team selects projects based on the student proposals by reviewing the feasibility of the project and its suitability for social contribution and social innovation.
These student-led projects are characterized by the fact that students learn about the causes and solutions to the social problems they experience and aim to solve, develop responsibility and initiative through collaboration with their teammates, and have the flexibility to organize their teams according to their own characteristics. The Global Social Innovation Team provides a variety of support to help students deeply understand the reality of social issues from the perspective of university students and maintain their activities. The 2023 Heemang Handae Leader Group had a total of 8 teams and nearly 200 students (excluding other university students and community service students with 0 extracurricular hours).
YOUTH CHANGE MAKERS
YOUTH CHANGE MAKERS is a project that trains youth changemakers, enabling high school students to understand the SDGs and changemaking, and experience the process of identifying and solving problems in their communities. In 2022, the team ran a parallel changemaker training workshop for university students called “One with You” (one day class with youth change makers). Through this program, 15 university students learned about the SDGs and social innovation, and experienced the process of solving social problems.

Kidari Bank
Kidari Bank is a university student-led self-help financial cooperative that supports the economic safety net and independence of students through autonomous interest loan business, financial education, and savings business.
In 2023, Kidari Bank participated in the 'Seoul Eastbound Youth ESG Planning Service Project' and conducted 'Our Neighborhood PLUGGING', a commercial district analysis activity for small businesses in Doseon-dong, Wangsimni, and collaborated with 'BC Sixty-four', a housing support project for young adults preparing for independence, to provide financial education.
LAICOS
The name LAICOS is a reversal of the word “SOCIAL,” which means “let's design a business model that is innovative enough to turn society upside down”. LAICOS studies business solutions to social problems, including social enterprise, corporate social responsibility, NGO innovation, and social entrepreneurship, and is working on various projects. In 2023, LAICOS continued its project to develop a zero-waste campus by renting out mats made from recycled banners, and established a new 'barrier-free' team to survey and map wheelchair-accessible shops in Wangsimni.
As a result of these activities, the LAICOS Barrier-Free Team was recognized for its purpose and results by receiving an encouragement award at the ‘2023 Seoul Community Contribution Capstone Design FAIR’ held at Dongguk University.
Hangaji
Hanagaji is an environmental service club that aims to create a virtuous cycle of resources and sharing through Hanagaji, just as a tree grows from one branch to a million branches. The Hangaji team operates the Hangaji Box, which collects discarded resources from dormitories and donates them to beautiful shops, and is actively engaged in various activities to realize a carbon-neutral campus and various campaigns with the MIRAL Welfare Foundation's college student volunteer group, the MIRAL Blooming Volunteer Corps.
The team's activities to develop a carbon-neutral campus won the grand prize at the '2023 Carbon Neutral Volunteerism Best Practices Competition' hosted by the Korea Volunteer Center, making it Hanyang University's representative environmental volunteer team.

HY-Lookie
HY-Lookie is an entrepreneurship club that aims to grow social innovators through the process of developing business models that can be developed into social ventures. It operates various internal project teams, fosters young social innovators, and conducts various collaborative activities with other universities. It is a club with a lot of growth potential that has won various projects and competitions such as 'Hana Power-on Social Venture Univ' and 'Konkuk University Social Venture Startup Camp' by planning a total of 8 social venture business models by 2023.

DreamDream
DreamDream is an educational volunteer team that works to improve children's rights. It plans and implements various volunteer activities such as donating profits from its flea market to child protection organizations and organizing plogging at Eulwang-ri Beach.
In 2023, the team provided learning mentoring to elementary school students at the Kids-Dream Nuri Center in Seongdong-gu, and donated 550,000 won worth of goods to Eden I-Ville in Seongdong-gu by selling accessories made by the students through a flea market.

The teams in the Heemang Handae Leader Group are leading local social contribution activities and creating a culture of service within the university. The Global Social Innovation Team supports the activities of the Heemang Handae Leader Group in various ways, providing guidance for the development and improvement of their activities and identifying new projects.
