Based on the concept of STEAM, the Discovery Center for Science and Technology for Young Scientists at Hanyang University independently develops science education content that incorporates cutting-edge engineering technology. In connection with the key concepts of the curricula of classes given, all developed programs are structured in a manner that enables them to be presented in storytelling fashion, from basic science principles to cutting-edge engineering technology. They feature textbooks whose content and design can stimulate creativity and emotional responses so that students can acquire scientific knowledge in an interesting way. Through experiencing STEAM education programs developed by the center, youths can increase not only their curiosity in and understanding of science but also their creative problem-solving skills, ability to communicate with others, divergent thinking skills, and inquiry skills. In addition to the mobile science classes, programs are also provided to a number of other institutions, such as relevant schools and companies.

 
STEAM education is a type of education that aims to foster integrative talent with the insight and ability to create social value by designing creative, practicality-based Engineering through the application of related Technology based on Science (basic scientific principles and concepts) and Mathematics and then combining it with the Arts (artistic sensibility and concepts within humanities) in a creative manner.
